New Drive Cleaning Machine Is All The Fashion

TNT Retail Express is the market leader in shared user retail warehousing and distribution. It caters for the specialist needs of major High Street retailers and their suppliers by storing and distributing hanging garments and boxed goods throughout Europe. The company operates a network of fifteen fashion logistics terminals across the UK. Movement within the network is by a hub and spoke system that connects every depot to TNT's Leicester Logistics centre. The floors at the Leicester site are kept clean and tidy thanks to a Drive 802 Scrubber Dryer, supplied by cleaning equipment specialists, Euromec.

Rob McLean is the Cleaning Supervisor at the eighty thousand square feet Leicester site and is responsible for ensuring that the warehouse is kept in pristine condition. "We have thirty loading bays, which are permanently open to the elements and a lot of rubbish is blown in." He says. "If we didn’t keep on top of it, the build up of dust and grime could effect the garments we store for our customers. The Drive has proved to be the ideal machine."

Drive is a low cost ride-on scrubber dryer specifically designed to handle most commercial and industrial cleaning applications. It is compact in design and constructed using a robust steel chassis surrounded by high capacity polythene solution and recovery tanks. The 802 model features two scrubbing brushes with a maximum cleaning width of 800mm. This gives it a cleaning capacity of 4000 square metres per hour, which means that it can clean the entire ground floor of the TNT site in less than four hours. Scrubbing performance is excellent due to adjustable scrubbing brush pressure and cleaning solution delivery. A full width squeegee ensures that the floor is left dry as well as clean.

Rob McLean is particularly impressed with Drive’s performance and comments. "The driving position is excellent. From the seat, I can see all around, an important safety factor in a busy area. It is also extremely manoeuvrable and can easily access the confined spaces between racks and conveyors. What’s more, I can cover the whole area without having to refill the solution tank, empty the dirty water or recharge the battery. All in all, the Drive is a superb cleaning machine and you can really see the results after its use."
